OMG…It Fits!!!

I am so excited, I could do a cartwheel! Yesterday, my bestie Rasheed and I went to Buckhead to the bridal boutique to take care of some things with my dress.  When I walked in, the attendant I work with asked the dreaded, “Do you want to try it on?”  Now the last time I tried on my dress (January), it ended with a “I can’t zip it”, “you’ve gained some weight”, and “you need to lose some here, here, and here or we’ll have to let it out.”  ::insert depression and anxiety::

Reluctant, I agreed.  I needed to see how far I have come since January to see if I needed to amp up the workouts or tone them down.  I stepped in the dress (I get chills everytime I put it on) and the zipper gets stuck.  I’m thinking, “OMG! Why?”  Unable to zip it up, she asks another attendant to help her. By now I’m thinking that tic tacs and water will only do at this point!! I just knew I’ve been eating healthy, five to six times a day, working out three days a week, and making water my best friend, all for this NOT to fit! Turns out the zipper was slightly bent.  After they realized it, the dress zipped smoothly and perfectly.  No clamps, no pins – perfectly! Ta-Da…the dress fits!!

All the attendants came around the corner for a peak and were in shock to see how great it fit.  My attendant in particular pointed out that not only did it fit, but I had gotten to the perfect size to where I would not need anything taken out or in, and depending on the height of the heel of my shoe, I may not need a hem either!! BOO-YAH!

After that, I realized the challenge opportunity is to maintain.  Continue to do what I have been doing.  Not only does my wedding dress fit, but I am in LOVE with the results. I feel great, I’m working out more than ever in life, I’m eating healthy, and my body looks fantastic.  With hard work, a balance diet, and exercising, and determination to know that there’s never a destination – it’s continuously improving, it can work!
